# **Employee training for a quarter of the cost**

The federal and provincial governments will pay 75% of the cost of job-related training for your staff. The program is the Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant (CAPG). I’m Dave Sabine, and I can help you use it.

**Facilitation**

## **I take care of the paperwork**

You want to provide your employees with professional development opportunities. I simplify the paperwork to ensure you can access CAPG funding efficiently and promptly.

CAPG funding will help you send employees to my courses.

I’m an established professional instructor and trainer. I specialize in AI, Scrum, Kanban, Ops, product/project management, and leadership training. More than 3,000 people have been trained and certified in my classes.

**Your budget**

## **What’s your current budget for training?**

You pay 25%. The government pays the other 75%. This estimate caps that grant at $5,000 per person and $100,000 per company.

**Eligibility**

## **Does this sound like your company?**

CAPG funding is available to incorporated and unincorporated businesses, non-profit organizations, aboriginal or Metis settlements, AFSC or ATB Financial.

- **An IT department sends its managers to Scrum and Kanban training** You run a manufacturing or energy-services company. The IT department is overwhelmed and delays have become normal. The managers are promoted programmers who were never taught how to manage flow. You need a simple way to see where work gets stuck, and to fix it without adding headcount.
- **Your firm sends its office staff to AI tools training** You run a professional-services firm (engineering, accounting, or legal). Your senior people are booked solid, files wait in someone’s inbox, and clients keep asking, “When will it be done?” You’ve heard AI could help, but nobody has time to figure out how. You need faster turnaround and a practical first step with AI that your team will actually use.
- **Your not-for-profit org sends its administrators to project management training** Your organization is run by a few administators and many volunteers. Your multiple initiatives, upcoming events, and fundraising activities are overwhelming. Admins are losing track and multi-tasking is causing burnout. The status quo is not sustainable and the team needs to adapt with new ways of working and tighter business processes.
- **A construction company sends its supervisors to AI tools training** You run a construction or trades company. Your crews are good, but every job juggles a dozen subcontractors, change orders, and a schedule that slips one day at a time. Your project managers live in spreadsheets after hours. They’re trying to use AI but get AI slop. You need everyone working from one visible plan and to automate repetitive tasks.

## **About the CAPG program**

CAPG is funded by the federal and provincial government to support training for your current staff and for people you plan to hire. You pay 25%. The government pays the other 75%, up to $5,000 per trainee per fiscal year (April 1 to March 31) and up to $100,000 per employer per fiscal year. Business owners and employed family members qualify too.

Hiring someone who is unemployed? If you’ve made them a job offer, you can send them to training even before they start the job. They’re covered at the same 75%, up to $5,000.

Training has to be instructor-led and job-relevant, in business operations, digital, or technical skills.

AI for business, Operations management, and Agile project management are all eligible topics for training.
